Paralelismo es la semejanza estructural de dos o más secuencias de forma que se produce una correspondencia casi exacta entre sus constituyentes.

Para que nos entendamos, un paralelismo puede ser tanto una misma escena o situación, como un plano en el que se combinan de igual manera los mismos elementos, etc.

El mismo George Lucas habla en los comentarios de los DVD sobre cómo buscaba mostrar de diversas maneras en sus películas que la historia se repite una y otra vez.
